Medical Grade Copper Pipe- (MGPS AS PER EN 13348)
Copper tubes are used in healthcare to transport medicinal gases. To ensure that medical gases do not become contaminated requires an extremely clean and smooth inner surface. A requirement satisfied by copper tubes.
Today, a centralized MGPS system is required by all hospitals. It is mandatory in critical sections like CCU, OT, ICU, Nursery etc. Copper gas pipelines is advantageous over conventional gas cylinders, especially in life saving situations as it is more reliable and ensures a ceaseless supply of oxygen or vacuum.
The high pressure withstanding capacity, corrosion resistence, durability and ease of installation of Copper tubes makes it an obvious choice. Copper tubes have a proven track record and meet the various standards across the world for medical gas applications.
Safety standards for oxygen and other positive-pressure medical gases require the use of Type K or L copper tube (see ASTM B 819). Special cleanliness requirements are called for because oxygen under pressure may cause the spontaneous combustion of some organic oils (the residual of lubricating oil used during manufacture) and for the safety of patients receiving medical gases.
Copper tube for medical gas lines furnished by the manufacturers should be suitably cleaned and capped or plugged. Care must be taken to prevent contamination of the system when the caps or plugs are removed and tube is installed.
At KWALITY PIPE & TUBES INDUSTRIES we proudly manufacture KWALITY marked Medical Grade Copper Pipe used in Medical Gas Distribution system. Uninterrupted Medical Gas supply is a necessity in hospitals (ICCU, Operation Theater, Wards, and Nursery etc.) Pipes facilitate this in most effective manner.
KWALITY marked medical grade copper tubes are manufactured as per EN13348/ BS EN 1057 specifications. The pipes are manufacturer under thorough inspections and quality control measures.
KWALITY marked medical grade copper tubes are available in size range 6mm to 108mm OD, 0.6mm to 2.0mm wall thickness in Half Hard/Hard condition and length 3 meter or as per requirement.
KWALITY pipes are subjected to TPI by reputed agencies like Lloyds Register, SGS, and TUV as per customer demand.
Kwality Pipes & Tubes uses modern and environment friendly aqueous degreasing system to achieve the ASTM B 280 cleanliness limit of less than 0.0035 g/sq. ft on interior surfaces.

Nonflammable Medical Gas Piping Systems
Safety standards for oxygen and other positive-pressure medical gases require the use of Type K or L copper tube (see ASTM B 819). Special cleanliness requirements are called for because oxygen under pressure may cause the spontaneous combustion of some organic oils (the residual of lubricating oil used during manufacture) and for the safety of patients receiving medical gases.
Copper tube for medical gas lines is furnished by the manufacturers suitably cleaned and capped or plugged. Care must be taken to prevent contamination of the system when the caps or plugs are removed and tube is installed. The installer must satisfy himself and the inspection department that the cleanliness requirements of the code have been met.
